Phone pig wanted

We are a very friendly website marketing team based in Truro, Cornwall. We need someone who is happy to call up lots of local authorities offering them quality content to help their readers.

Its not a glamourous job and can be a bit hard going. However, its on behalf of a charity and is for 3 days a week so you won’t go completely mental.

What’s more, it is based in our office, which is in fact our boss’s lovely home where lunch is provided every day. Favourite menus include mushroom soup with stilton and posh bread as well as the classic smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagel combo.

What's a phone pig? See Peep Show, series 6, episode 1, 2:49.

phone pig

You must be able to operate a computer and a telephone at the same time (we find a headset helps) and be comfortable, confident and friendly in talking to strangers over the phone whose busy schedules may not put your needs at the top of their list of priorities. But a good phone pig never gives up and keeps going with organised emails and calls until someone responds. If they say no, that’s totally fine, move on to the next.

The position is temporary and has come about because we have lots to do and not enough time to call all the people we have been emailing to chase them up for links. That’s where you come in phone pig!

If you think you have what it takes to spend 3 days a week on the phone, we can reward you with good pay, nice lunches and plenty of tea and coffee as well as the odd biscuit.
